Curt Leitz-With an October 16, 2025 completion of his Mississippi River paddle, Curt’s time of 29 years, 2 months, and 13 days was deemed far enough behind the 2023 record of Scott, Judson, Paul, and Wally that no one bothered measuring the hours and minutes. Curt grew up along the Mississippi in Red Wing, Minnesota and can’t remember a time when he didn’t wonder where a river would take him if he launched a canoe on it. After a (mostly) successful career as an at-home dad, Curt now has more time for hunting, fishing, and sporting his lederhosen. Curt resides in Duluth, Minnesota, where he enjoys interesting headgear and is routinely castigated by family members for having more pictures of his dogs than he does of them.
